Description
Alarm Monitor model AM-255 is a battery powered, remote monitor unit used with TSA’s pedestrian and vehicle portal monitors. The AM-255 provides both audible and visual alarm indications for radiation alarms, low and high background alarms, and tamper conditions. Parallel relay outputs are provided to permit interfacing with existing alarm systems. The AM-255 may be located up to 300 ft (100m) from the farthest pillar to be monitored.
A test button is provided to check the operation of the lamp(s) and audio circuits. An acknowledge button silences the audio and clears the lamp(s). If the alarm is not acknowledged, the lamp(s) will follow the system’s status.
The AM-255 operates from an internal battery which is continuously charged from the ac line. If ac power is lost, the battery will provide more than 12 hours of continued operation.
One AM-255 will monitor two systems or two SC-755 controllers.
The AM-255 is controlled by a programmable logic device. This allows the flexibility to provide custom operation for special applications.

Applications
Alarm monitor model AM-255 is a remote display indicator designed to be used with TSA’s PM-700 series pedestrian portal monitors, VM-250 series vehicle portal monitors, and the NVM-245 neutron radiation vehicle portal monitor.
The AM-255 may be located up to 300 ft (100cm) from the portal monitor.
A programmable logic device controls the AM-255, allowing custom operation for special applications.
